James R. Macholl, DDS, MD
Meet Dr. James Macholl
Dr. James Macholl was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in the small town of Hubertus, Wisconsin. He graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1991. After graduation, Dr. Macholl joined the United States Army. His first assignment was as a resident in general dentistry at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. This was followed by three years of service in Mannheim, Germany. Dr. Macholl was selected by the Army for oral surgery training and sent to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. There, he received his Doctor of Medicine and completed an internship in general surgery. Dr. Macholl finished his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2001.
Since finishing his residency, Dr. James Macholl has been assigned to Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois, Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. Dr. Macholl also spent one year training in a cosmetic surgery fellowship. He retired from the Army with more than 23 years of service in July, 2014. He spent the last eight years of his military career involved in the care of service members wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Dr. Macholl is a diplomate (board certified) of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Macholl joined Alliance Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in July, 2014. He spends his free time with his wife Dora.
